Making Anew

First of all, why is blogging so darn hard! Well, its hard for me anyway. And I have come to a conclusion that the reason being is because I don’t have a schedule. I normally, write when I feel like writing and with getting sucked into well, life. I forget about this place and then I’ll look at an empty bottle of shampoo and say to myself: “I haven’t blogged this month” – weird but, it is true.

Through all the changes that I have gone through in the past few years I noticed this year I actually felt the changes. I found myself as you all read through this blog that I was trying to figure out what was going on with me and my head. I came to another conclusion/realization that if I wanted to see change: I had to do it myself. Without complaining, might I add.

So, here are three things I am changing:

Sticking To A Schedule

This is rough for me. Its easy for me to keep up with a work schedule and my meeting schedule because, that is mandatory. When it comes to more say hobbies, studying for meetings and working out, that is where I suffer. I always was a person who never liked schedules, even though I do feel that way still, they are crucial to get something accomplished. I tend to get caught up in the daily grind and forget or tend to push aside the things I sought out to accomplish that day. Example: I wanted to start working out but, didn’t want to join a gym. So, I did some research and found a great YouTube channel dedicated to Pilates. They even provide you with calender’s which help you schedule in your workouts everyday. Only problem was that I would have to workout before work. I am not a morning person per say{I am not an evil person, I just hate waking up before I am ready} So, my laziness got the best of me and I kept pushing aside and say “oh, I’ll do it after work” Then someone would call or my husband will say “let’s hit up happy hour” or it would be me being tired and flopping on the couch and watching tv.

So, if I stuck to my schedule I probably would have been beach ready by this time, but of course, I am not.

I said all of that to say, I am making schedules for working out, my blog post and meeting preparation and they’ll be realistic so I know I can stick to it. Bare with me!

Put Forth More Effort

I make too many excuses why something hasn’t been done all because of one word: laziness.

I noticed that I make lame excuses for things that don’t even require that much work. So, along with sticking with a schedule I will exert more effort towards my goals.

Being Better Prepared

I have gotten a lot better at this but, I still slack from time to time. I need to start prepping better whether it is making sure I get my clothes out for work the night before or making sure I take chicken out to thaw for dinner that night. I would like to make sure I have everything I need for the next day so I am not scrambling around and getting to work realizing I forgot my lunch.

And even in regards to the blog, having prepared information I want to share would make my blog more productive and there is not guessing work involved.

The reason for this post is to make myself accountable. No more excuses. Only gumption.

  1. Well lady!! Go for it:) and be kind to yourself:) in regards to working out. I found a space that I felt comfortable with. Then it still took me a full year to be consistent with my group class. I still stink at being personally motivated. I’m terrible w meal prep, clothes prep and meeting prep. It has been a blessing the meeting has been revised. You can do It!! Don’t beat yourself up xoxo

    1. Ciara, thank you so much for the encouragement! I wish I could say I stuck with what I said above the past few months but, some things have changed and some have not – lol. Our summer got super busy all of a sudden so, now that it is going into fall I think they’ll be a lot more down time and I can get my focus back.
